Abstract:Using Xuanda No.2,Jiqing,Jizuo 882,and Yongqing as parental lines,the single-cross hybrids Xuanda No.2×Jiqing and Jizuo 882×Yongqing were developed.These two hybrids were then used to create a four-way cross combination. Through ApNPV resistance screening and selection for whole cocoon weight,the large-cocoon disease-resistant tussah variety Jikang2 was bred in 2021 after 14 years of systematic selective breeding.Results for disease resistance,cocoon silk quality,pupal/moth traits,reproductive performance,and rearing efficiency demonstrated that the new variety exhibits stable genetic characteristics of the cyan-yellow lineage.It shows advantages in thousand-cocoon weight (11.62 kg),egg production,practical hatchability,cocoon shell percentage,raw silk yield from fresh cocoons,disease resistance.Notably,it achieved a whole cocoon weight of 12.01 g and a rate of cocooning after hatching of 49.14%.Hybrid superiority was evident compared to control varieties Xuanda No. 4,Yongqing,and Jizuo 889.
